The facility will provide the New York State Department of Motor Vehicle department a full list of all end of life vehicles received, stored, dismantled, crushed, recycled, sold, or disposed of for the full length of the year. Vehicle inspection should be conducted before storage for any leaks involving waste fluid. Repairs should be made to the motor vehicle to contain any possible hazardous waste until proper disposal.
The facility will track the volume of all waste fluid recovered, used on site at the facility, the volume used for sale or recycling, or disposed off site. Also included should be the amount of scrap metal including ferrous and non-ferrous metal stored on site or sent to a scrap metal processor. The storage of lead-acid batteries and any mercury switches should follow all compliance regulations placed by New York for storage facilities. The storage, sale or disposal of all materials from the junk cars including hazardous waste, metal, tires, and other waste must follow all best management practices listed in the compliance checklist. Inspections of the facility after the completion of any repairs to the materials or crushing of the end of life vehicle should include cleaning of any leaks of hazardous materials. The full list with all volumes of materials stored, sold, disposed of and recycled, including listing of all compliance regulations should be turned in to the New York Department of Motor Vehicles by March of the following year.
