Core features are free forever
The Enforcement Food Law Enforcement Audit Protocols (Scotland) app is a form that allows an auditing agency or body to perform an accurate evaluation of a local authority's or law enforcement agency's enforcement processes as it relates to the local and national Food Law Codes of Practice in Scotland.
How does it work?
The audit checks a local authority's written policies, evidence of implementation of the policy, outlier enforcement actions or decisions rendered by law enforcement officers, reasons for decisions or actions being documented, the existence of documented procedures for warning, prosecutions, and hygiene notices, training for enforcement staff, and the issuance of notices/certificates. Having a sound enforcement policy in place promotes compliance with local laws and regulations concerning food safety, ultimately promoting better food hygiene and benefiting the public health.
