When a conveyor belt system is being operated, it is important for the conveyor belt operator, or those nearby the operating belt, to ensure clothing is not loose or torn, that danger areas are kept clear, that safety zone is established and clearly marked, and that general industry safety training is observed, and any operators have achieve successful completion of any training programs. Operators should note any problems with the conveyor belt, and either cease operations, or notify maintenance personnel. Any spillage on the belt should be cleaned as quickly as possible.
