HUD Inspection Form - Section 8 - Louisiana Mobile App
Core features are free forever
In Louisiana, to rent to a Section 8 tenant, your house or apartment must be inspected to make sure the housing quality meets the housing standards as set by the Housing and Urban Development(HUD).
How does it work?
Use this checklist form provided by HUD, the federal agency in charge of the Section 8 program, to complete the inspection right on your smartphone or tablet.
The HUD home inspector will examine the exterior of the building, the plumbing and heating systems, the exits and hallways, and each room to make sure the unit is safe, clean and in good condition, as dictated by the Housing and Urban Development standards. The unit must be vacant of tenants at the time of the first housing inspection, and all utilities must be turned on. The inspector must also have access to the unit itself, the basement, and all common areas.
For each line item the inspector marks if the unit passes or fails (or not sure). If repairs are needed to your Louisiana property, the inspector marks this on the form in the comments section.
This app streamlines the inspection process for HUD home inspectors and can also be used by tenants as a reference for what is checked when analyzing the property condition and to familiarize themselves with the quality standards.
