Midwife Birth Plan

The Midwifery model of care believes a woman’s body has been perfectly designed for birth and in normal circumstances a baby can be born with minimal medical intervention without a birth center being necessary. A professional midwife believes that women are strong, capable, powerful and are able to manage the discomfort of labor; they do not need to be “rescued,” rather they need to be supported through a midwifery program. As a nursing or midwifery professional, use this birth plan template with a pregnant woman to facilitate the woman's wishes for a normal birth, throughout the labor and delivery process to ensure successful midwifery practice. Help improve the natural experience of pregnancy and childbirth for mothers in terms of natural prenatal care and labour, as opposed to a hospital birth that fosters a sometimes different birth experience.
