Ship Sanitation: Other Systems and Areas Mobile App
There are other systems and areas that also present health concerns.
How does it work?
Vectors pose a major risk to the health of passengers and crew members. On board, mosquitoes, rats, mice, cockroaches, flies, lice and rat fleas are all capable of transmitting disease. Also, rodents are well established at port areas and are considered vectors for many diseases, such as plague, murine typhus, salmonellosis, trichinosis, leptospirosis and rat-bite fever. Monitoring and control of vectors and reservoirs is necessary to maintain health on ships.
