The company should provide a Certificate of Origin to the purchaser, where the purchaser needs this certificate to obtain a title and/or register a boat with state numbering authorities like the DMV. The procedure is the same as when an automobile or other motor vehicle is purchased.

As boat builders, use this templated form when selling motor vessels. Use this app at the time of sale to help create proper records for the DMV. Establish the certificate as an affidavit that is part of the application to purchase the vessel.

After downloading to an iPhone, iPad, or Android device, you can collect information about the hull identification number, vessel owner, hull material, builder certification, proof of ownership, and much more through this template. All vessel documentation is saved in the GoCanvas Cloud and can be emailed or printed as a report PDF if you need to send it to a county tax collector office, receive a registration certificate of title, or keep for your records.

Don't take our word for it...

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
