Head injuries in athletes can be brain injuries with symptoms that coaches, health care professionals, and athletic trainers should be trained to identify as part of a concussion policy, where this app provides a form where you can log and review perceived symptoms in a way to ensure that a student-athlete has not incurred a traumatic brain injury and is safe to return to the field. This app would be perfect for a high school athletic trainer who is responsible for assessment and management of concussions during games. All medical providers are encouraged to review the CDC web site (http://www.cdc.gov/concussion/index.html) if they have any questions regarding the latest information on the evaluation and care of a scholastic athlete following a concussion injury.
