These individuals are tasks with identifying and providing integrated solid waste management services to the a city, state, county, or other constituency base by providing information, education plan design, and enforcement in the handling of solid waste including recycling, reduction and reuse of materials, disposal of household hazardous waste, oversight of junkyards, and handling other solid waste management issues. In an administrative role, hazardous job duties may be reduced, more so than in an operational role, however, administrators often must perform work at a solid waste facility, oversee the disposal of hazardous materials and hazardous substances, and regularly inspect waste collection efforts and recycling facilities.
