Good Agricultural Practices (GAP): Mock Recall Mobile App

The Mock Recall mobile app for agricultural recalls was developed makes it easy for organic farming operations, non-organic farms and other operations that manage agricultural products to generate mock food recalls as required by the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) for food and farm safety. The agricultural products recalls app maintains an electronic list of recalled products that includes details about harvest date, storage information and other important details that are needed during food product recalls. Having this list, which is created using any smartphone or tablet, on hand before a safety recall occurs can help ensure food safety and protect consumers from harmful food products.

Using the mock recall app for industrial agriculture helps ensure that food that has been recalled doesn't make it out of the supply chain and into consumer's homes and manufacturer's plants. This helps reduce the occurrence of foodborne illness from tainted products. This helps prepare industrial farming operations for possible food product recalls, making it easier for food and drug administration inspection services and food safety operators to track tainted foods that need to be recalled.
