Audit/evaluation and surveillance are significant components of an ASI’s responsibilities.
How does it work?
Audit/evaluation includes verifying that the certificate or approval holder meets all regulatory requirements and operates in compliance with its manuals and operating procedures. Surveillance includes ensuring that the certificate or approval holder is maintaining compliance during day-to-day operations of the air agency for the certificate that they hold. There is limited specific regulatory guidance that focuses on NDI. A visual inspection is a process of using the eye, either alone or with the help of various aids, as the sensing mechanism to determine the condition of a unit under inspection. The Nondestructive Inspection for Aviation Safety: Visual Inspections mobile app allows you to replace your paper inspection with a tablet or smartphone. The mobile form includes fields to document items such as facility/location, date started and completed, certificated NDI inspectors, work performed and facility representatives. Once the mobile app is filled out a secure PDF is generated. The PDF is easy to share, and a copy is stored in your account for your NDT non-destructive testing records. You can also use the App Builder to personalize and customize this mobile form.
