Checklist for Wetland Mitigation Plans Mobile App
The Checklist for Wetland Mitigation Plans app provides Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) guidelines for wetland and stream mitigation plans.
How does it work?
Having proper wetland mitigation plans in place is important for protecting aquatic resources. This app is useful in the development and implementation of mitigation and monitoring plans for the protection or restoration a wetland area or areas. Mitigation projects for wetland restoration are important to ensure water quality, protection of wetlands such as forested wetland, natural wetlands, and other aquatic resources. This checklist ensures that mitigation restoration projects have a proper mitigation plan which includes goals and objectives of a mitigation plan, maps showing the mitigation site in relation to roads and surrounding landmarks, baseline level monitoring conditions for topography, soils, hydrology, and vegetation, an explanation of why a site was selected a site development plan, performance standards, schedules and construction methods, and more. Additionally, the app provides a checklist item to ensure that financial assurances are in place including project financing, cost estimates, and more. This app is important for ensuring wetland restoration is performed in a proper mitigation area, is done correctly, and focuses on clean water, awareness of impacts, restoration of wetland functions, maintenance of water levels, improvements for fish and wildlife native to wetland areas, and overall protection for wetland resources.
