DOJ Crime Scene Investigation (CSI): Prioritize Collection of Evidence Mobile App

Forensic investigations rely on the collection of quality evidence. In many cases, biological evidence or physical evidence may be subject to contamination or spoliation if not collected quickly. This app helps crime scene technicians to note which evidence should be collected first, as some evidence may need to cold stored for safe keeping, while other evidence may need to preserved in a DNA stabilizer to prevent degradation of the DNA. Properly collecting evidence is of great importance to the criminal investigation following the processing of a crime scene, and this app helps to ensure it is done correctly.

The DOJ Crime Scene Investigation series of app is intended for use by law enforcement and other responders who have responsibility for protecting crime scenes, preserving physical evidence, and collecting and submitting the evidence for scientific examination. Physical evidence has the potential to play a critical role in the overall investigation and resolution of a suspected criminal act. Realization of this potential depends on actions taken early in the criminal investigation at the crime scene.

How It Works
I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.
