How does it work?
Patients can sign within the app on the electronic device. Like paper forms, the patient confidentiality is maintained like any other health records. Medical personnel is able to support the patients without any extensive training.
Alcohol and/or drug treatment records are protected under the federal regulations governing Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patient Records, 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 2, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), 45 CFR, Parts 160 and 164, and cannot be disclosed without written consent unless otherwise provided for in the regulations. The form is HIPAA compliant and can be used by any health care provider.
