Co-Digestion Economic Analysis Tool (CoEAT) Mobile App
The Co-Digestion Economic Analysis Tool (CoEAT) from the U.S.
How does it work?
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was developed to provide municipalities and other organizations with an initial evaluation of the economic feasibility of food waste co-digestion. Anyone in charge of conducting the feasibility study for their community should download the Co-Digestion Economic Analysis Tool (CoEAT) Mobile App to their smartphone or tablet.
The app includes the information for an assessment of food waste co-digestion for the purpose of biogas production. Through anaerobic digestion or anaerobic co-digestion, food waste can be transformed into a source of renewable energy as bacteria break down the food waste and release biogas as a byproduct. Co-digestion at a wastewater treatment plant is one process to be analyzed.
When it comes time to assess the economic feasibility and associated costs, assessment of food waste co-digestion, options for wastewater treatment plants, in a manure digester or in a stand-alone digester, use this app to get the results needed.
In order to optimize the accuracy of CoEAT, community-specific information should be used. Find out how alternative energy sources can improve the energy efficiency of your community, and eliminate excess methane output from the food waste.
Once this checklist is complete, collect all appropriate signatures and save this safely and securely to your GoCanvas Cloud. Access it anytime, anywhere from your iPhone, iPad or Android device. Generate this into a PDF report and send to community officials where they can assess the potential of another form of electricity.
