This app is beneficial for anyone who has installed a fireplace or stove as part of do-it-yourself projects.

This checklist is designed to be generic in content and may not include all requirements for your particular installation. It can easily be customized to meet specific requirements for city, county, and state. For example, you can make sure you don't have a fireplace insert. A home inspector will also check to see if you have a zero-clearance fireplace. Other items you can check are:

• fireplaces, pellet, or wood stoves are approved for manufactured (mobile) home installation;

• a listed/approved chimney system for this appliance is installed and securely attached to the fireplaces, pellet, or wood stoves;

• unless otherwise specified in the building codes, the manufacturer’s installation instructions must be adhered to and available to the inspector at the time of the inspection. You can easily save the Pre-Inspection Checklist to the GoCanvas Cloud and give the information to the home inspector as a PDF.

Be sure you can answer YES to all of the questions before calling for inspection. Failure of the inspection could require a re-inspection fee to be paid.

Don't take our word for it...

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
