The guide is advisory in nature and informational in content. It is not itself a standard or regulation, and it creates no new legal obligations. The employer must refer to the appropriate standard to ensure it is in compliance.
Employers must maintain copies of SDSs in their workplaces, and must ensure that SDSs are readily accessible The app is based on the requirements of the Hazard Communication Standard (HazCom 2012), 29 CFR 1910.1200. The intent of this app is to provide an easy-to-use format that can be modified to address the specific situation in your workplace. You are free to use whatever format you choose to develop your program—there is no requirement to follow this example. However, if you use this or any other sample program, you must customize it to your specific workplace, otherwise you will not be in compliance with the HCS. GoCanvas apps are easily customized.

Don't take our word for it...

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
