The land may have been used for livestock operations, residential use, watershed, for growing other types of fruits and vegetables, or maybe even a dumping or storage site. The same goes for adjacent properties. If the land was used for another reason within the previous five years, it is in the best interest of public health that farm management conducts an inspection of the area and soil to determine if the area is safe for crop production. These requirements will ensure the safety of consumers. The Farm Food Safety Plan: Soils/Previous Land Use app should be used by farm management to document what the land was used for prior to crop production. Documenting the previous usage will help to mitigate food safety risks and limit public health concerns. The details collected in the app may need to be used by the local government as part of the permit process and to ensure quality food items free of bacteria, pathogens and other contaminants are produced in the local area.

Don't take our word for it...

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
