This process is an important part of the safety plan and is often part of the regulations and standards included in an agricultural audit. Suppliers and growers will do their best to meet ensure their products and other food items are handled in accordance with food industry standards and best practices, however, food safety risks may lead to a product recall. The Farm Food Safety Plan: Mock Recall Log app should be used by growers and suppliers to test aspects of their recall process including traceability of the finished product. The app will outline harvest information, shipping details, and any mock recall specifics. There will be an opportunity to include results and any corrective actions needed. During a recall, the roles and responsibilities of key personnel in the recall process should be noted, lot numbers should be trackable, raw materials for each food product being recalled should be tracked, and food packaging should have easy to identify lot numbers and information that can be useful in a recall.

Don't take our word for it...

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
