Geotechnical Checklist: GTR Review Checklist for Driven Piles Mobile App
The Geotechnical Checklist: GTR Review Checklist for Driven Piles mobile app allows you to replace your paper checklist with a smartphone, tablet or desktop.
How does it work?
The mobile form includes fields to document items such as date, site location/GPS, notes, inspector and captures inspector's signature. Once the mobile app is filled out a secure PDF is generated. The PDF is easy to share, and a copy is stored in your account for your bridge engineering and construction records. You can also use the App Builder to personalize and customize this mobile form. The app checklist and technical guidelines has been developed to aid engineers in their review of projects containing major and unusual geotechnical features. The major information and recommendations that should be addressed in project geotechnical reports. Reviews made during the preliminary stage of project development will commonly consist of reviewing the geotechnical report only, since detailed plans and specifications may not yet be prepared. Is the recommended pile type given (displacement, non-displacement, steel pipe, concrete, H-pile, etc.) with valid reasons given for choice and/or exclusion? Do you consider the recommended pile type(s) to be the most suitable and economical? Are estimated pile lengths and estimated tip elevations given for the recommended allowable pile design loads? Has design analysis (wave equation analysis) verified that the recommended pile section can be driven to the estimated or specified tip elevation without damage (especially applicable where dense gravel-cobble-boulder layers or other obstructions have to be penetrated)?
