It is important during this time to record as much information as possible to aid in the future running of the die. Near the end of the sample run, all machine settings, including temperatures, should be tabulated on a set-up sheet. These settings will give you a starting point for future set-ups. In addition to recording these process settings, some observations need to be made. It is recommended that a questionnaire type form is used, similar to the one on the next page, which serves as a part of the die's permanent record. The Die Casting: Sample Run Evaluation for Die Cast Dies mobile app allows you to replace your paper checklist with a cell phone, tablet or even a computer. The mobile form includes fields to document items such as customer, die number, part number, date and inspected by. Once the mobile app is filled out a secure PDF is generated. The PDF is easy to share, and a copy is stored in your account for your foundry and die casting records. You can also use the App Builder to personalize and customize this mobile form.

Don't take our word for it...

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
