The impact to utilities in areas affected by flood waters can range from power outages to sewer overflows to limited access to the treatment plant. The EPA has created an Incident Action Checklist for Flooding app to assist water and wastewater utility companies in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from flood waters. The provides the user with planning resources for a flood event along with national agencies who can assist in recovery for facility operations and restoration of water systems in the event of flooding. The app offers a checklist and space for notes for three phases: actions to prepare for a flood such as reviewing the emergency response plan, actions to respond to a flood including hazard communications, and finally, actions to recover from a flood such as damage assessments to facility and service areas. This app is an essential part of any water utility's emergency response plan for managing flooding disasters.

Don't take our word for it...

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
