Shallow Excavations Toolbox Talk (UK) Mobile App
Ditches, trenches, holes for fence posts, areas of road or concrete open for repairs are considered shallow excavations.
How does it work?
Shallow excavations do not require shoring to prevent collapse and should not exceed 0.5 meter in depth. Typically, shallow excavations are completed with the use of hand held tools although in some circumstances excavators may be used. As with any excavation area or project, caution should be taken with buried cables, phone or ground water, gas pipes, and rock or stone. For more information about the excavations please refer to The Shallow Excavation Toolbox Talk (UK) app.
