Employees can choose to use vouchers or a salary sacrifice arrangement to pay for workplace nursery facilities to help with childcare costs.
How does it work?
Childcare vouchers are part of a salary sacrifice scheme, but some employees may choose to cancel it. The Workplace Nursery Salary Cancellation Form (UK) app allows users to cancel or amend these voucher plans. Employees must provide employee information, child details, opting out justification, and authorisation. Users also agree to terms and conditions, part of which states: the employee agrees the Salary Sacrifice with QMUL and this agreement will then serve as an amendment to the employee’s contract of employment (in accordance with Section 4 of the Employment Rights Act 1996) with regard to the employee’s salary which will be reduced by the amount of the salary sacrifice.
