Wetland Mitigation Checklist

This app can be used to check for site selection considerations, goals and objectives, a location map, water budgets, the existence of a grading plan, plant species, soil preparation, land use plans for the nearby area, abatement and control plans for invasive species, compensatory mitigation methods that protect the site in perpetuity (covenants, a conservation easement, natural space dedication, etc.), contingency plans, and long-term management and monitoring of the wetland area are in place. Properly having a mitigation plan in place helps to ensure that the aquatic resources and other natural resources of a wetland site plan are protected and that in the event problems occur, wetland restoration can be carried out to ensure that there is clean water, that impacts to fish and wildlife are minimized, and that wetland areas remain as unimpacted as possible.
