Log grading and scaling is the process of evaluating logged timber for quality, length, diameter, and more. This process can help to determine the net volume and gross volume of timber that was harvested during a logging operation. Working with timber and logs can present safety and health issues to workers. In many cases, logs may not be properly secured, and measuring stacks of logs can present potential hazards due to logs shifting or falling which can cause bodily injury or even fatalities to graders and scalers. Through this app, workers can note all of the job steps that are taken to scale and grade logs, each task associated with a job step can be evaluated for risk and potential hazards, and mitigation strategies and hazard controls can be put in place to protect the well-being of employees and workers. This app notes the most basic hazard control - the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ultimately, incorporating this app as a part of a work safety initiative or occupational safety program can greatly benefit workers and companies alike.

Don't take our word for it...

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
