DOJ Crime Scene Investigation (CSI): Crime Scene Investigator/Evidence Technician

Forensic scientists, crime lab technicians, evidence technicians, and law enforcement officers that are tasked with crime scene investigation must arrive to any crime scene with the proper tools and equipment necessary to do their jobs effectively. This app provides guidelines and checklist for forensic evidence technicians and investigators from law enforcement agencies to have the proper items such as bindle paper, biohazard bags, body fluid collection kits, cameras, casting materials, forms, barricade tape, cutting instruments, disinfectant, firearms and gunshot residue kits, trace evidence kits, latent print collection equipment, and more so that a crime scene can be secured, and an investigation can be conducted professionally.

The DOJ Crime Scene Investigation series of app is intended for use by law enforcement and other responders who have responsibility for protecting crime scenes, preserving physical evidence, and collecting and submitting the evidence for scientific examination. Physical evidence has the potential to play a critical role in the overall investigation and resolution of a suspected criminal act. Realization of this potential depends on actions taken early in the criminal investigation at the crime scene.
