DOJ Crime Scene Investigation (CSI): Safety Procedures Mobile App
DOJ Crime Scene Investigation (CSI): Safety Procedures Form app is an easy to use app for guiding law enforcement professionals and crime scene investigators in safety procedures related to crime scenes and forensic investigations.
How does it work?
Crime scenes are not always the safest places. Once a responder gets to a crime scene, they should first make sure that the scene has been properly secured and protected before they begin to process it. In order to secure the scene, the responding officer must conduct a thorough search to be sure that there are no suspects or physical dangers, such as booby traps, still present. This app is incredibly useful for investigators and law enforcement agencies seeking to operate safely when present at crime scenes.
The DOJ Crime Scene Investigation series of app is intended for use by law enforcement and other responders who have responsibility for protecting crime scenes, preserving physical evidence, and collecting and submitting the evidence for scientific examination. Physical evidence has the potential to play a critical role in the overall investigation and resolution of a suspected criminal act. Realization of this potential depends on actions taken early in the criminal investigation at the crime scene.
