The Notice of Access Delay is a construction form that notifies a contractor or project manager that a construction project may be delayed due to access impediments suffered by a sub-contractor, or general contractor.

The notice requests a time extension from whatever time frames are identified in the original construction contract as it may be impossible to meet said contractual obligations due to an access impediment outside of contractor control. The delay notice ultimately serves to provide a time estimate and extension request on the project. Additionally, by notifying the stakeholder of the delay resulting from an access impediment outside of their control, the contractor or sub-contractor can avoid legal damages, liquidated damages, or delay damages resulting from work not being completed by the time or date originally contemplated.
