Impoundment Inspection Form (Water, Sediment, Slurry) mobile app is part of the procedures for the inspection of coal mine impoundments and procedures for review of impoundment operation plans at facilities and sites inspected by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA). The mobile template includes health and safety requirements for water quality standards, hazardous waste, coal slurry spill, and coal preparation. Major adverse changes in the required items in the inspection report could cause soil instability and should be reported to the District Manager for further evaluation. Adverse conditions noted in these items should normally be described in relation to extent, location, volume, etc. Note that use of the terms “left” and “right” in reference to water flow in a dam should be based on facing downstream. This mobile inspection form is intended for an inspector general or other site inspectors.
