These designated areas can become contaminated with residues over a period of time and use. Contamination typically results from spills, splashes, failed containers, uncontrolled chemical reactions, storage of incompatible chemicals next to each other and simply using the areas for their intended purposes. If radioactive materials have been used in the fume hood, contact the Radiation Safety Officer for a radiation clearance survey. After receiving clearance from Radiation Safety, proceed with the steps in the Lab Exit/Renovation/Decommissioning Common Laboratory Areas Checklist mobile app.

Don't take our word for it...

“I’m not a tech guy and I was able to pick this thing up in probably an hour, and actually start to build apps. I’ve done them over lunch when I’ve gotten frustrated with a process that didn’t exist in our company. So for non tech people who’ve got a problem, the support here is awesome and I’d recommend it to anybody, not just in our industry.”
