Under the COSHH Regulations a biological agent means a micro-organism, cell culture, or human endoparasite, which may cause infection, allergy, toxicity or otherwise create a hazard to human health.
How does it work?
Micro-organism means a microbiological entity, cellular or non-cellular, which is capable of replication or of transferring genetic material; and cell culture means the in-vitro growth of cells derived from multicellular organisms. A COSHH risk assessment is required not only for work with biological agents but also with materials that may contain these. Use the COSHH Biological Agents mobile app to assist with a risk assessment. GoCanvas allows you to select when you want to sync and send submissions.
