Transit and Railroad Police Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Worksheet Mobile App
The Transit and Railroad Police Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) Worksheet is an app used for a police department, police officer, or law enforcement officer/agency tasked with protecting transit lines, railroad lines, and rail yards.
How does it work?
A railroad police officer provides services of both police and detectives by policing railways, and investigating crimes such as theft from rail yards, theft from train cars, murders and assaults that take place on rail lines and at rail yards, and more. These safety officers may be employed by a metro or subway company (for example, WMATA in the D.C. area, the Transit Authority in New York/New Jersey, or BART in San Francisco), a train company (such as CSX or Amtrak), of the Federal Railroad Administration. These officers may be commissioned police officers, or serve as a special agent when operating under federal jurisdiction. Working in these positions presents these these law enforcement officers with threats such as those posed by working on or near moving trains, arresting violent criminals, and handling hazardous materials. Through this app, each job step can be noted, risks can be identified, and hazards mitigated.
