People use metal detectors for a variety of reasons, from treasure hunting to finding magnetic fields or metal contamination. Regardless of the reason why a person wants to set out on foot with a metal detector in hand, in Canada, the said person must obtain permission beforehand.
In accordance with County Codes no person shall use a metal detector on Parks property without approval. The Canadian Application for Metal Detecting Approval mobile app is required to be submitted for approval at least 48 hours prior to the requested date for metal detecting. This app can be completed and submitted using a desktop computer, smartphone or tablet. A PDF is created for your records, then emailed to you and saved to your GoCanvas account.
