How do I download / install the Canvas Smart Client to my Mobile Device?

We wanted to make it as easy as possible for you to get Canvas down to your mobile device, so you can start using Canvas to collect data using your mobile device quickly and easily.  We provide several ways to download Canvas to your Blackberry, Android, iPhone, iPad or Windows Mobile device.  Canvas runs as a thick client on your mobile device, and is called the "Canvas Smart Client".  In order for you to use Canvas, you must download the Canvas Smart Client for your device.  Use any of the following options to download Canvas.  Option 4 is the only option for Apple Products (iPhone, iPad, iTouch).

Option 1 - Use the browser on your mobile device to download Canvas

On your Blackberry, Android or Windows Mobile device take the following steps:

• Open the browser on your mobile device
• Navigate to the URL http://www.gocanvas.com/m
• Select the device type you have and click download

Option 2 - Have the link sent to your mobile device

Follow the below steps to have an e-mail or text message sent directly to your device with a link to download the Canvas Smart Client.

• Login to the Canvas website at http://www.gocanvas.com
• Select "My Profile" from the top right hand corner of the page.
• Verify you have the correct mobile device configured in the "My Mobile Device" section.  In the "My Mobile Device" section you can also sepcify if you want the Canvas Smart Client download link sent to you via e-mail or text message.
• Click the "Get Smartphone App" button on the left side of the page, this will send an e-mail or text message to your device with a download link to download the Canvas Smart Client.

Option 3 - Use the Android Marketplace or Blackberry AppWorld to download Canvas

If you have an Android, if you launch the Android Marketplace and search for "Canvas" you will find the Canvas client which has been created by "Canvas Solutions, Inc.".

If you have a BlackBerry, if you launch the "Blackberry AppWorld" application you can find Canvas under the "Data Collection" category.  You can find out more at our BlackBerry AppWorld page.

Option 4 - Use Apple's App Store to download Canvas (the only option for Apple Products - (iPhone, iTouch, iPad)

If you have an iPhone, iTouch or iPad you need to first download Canvas from the onboard App Store on your device.  Visit this page from your mobile device (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/smart-business-forms-by-canvas/id418917158?mt=8) from your mobile device or type in "CANVAS FORMS" into the search block in the devices App Store.
