A County has 2 options related to the duration of the license. Proof of current rabies vaccination is required to obtain a license. For a 3-year license to be obtained the pet must have rabies vaccination that coincides with the expiration of the license. An owner shall apply for a license within 10 days after the owner’s dog or cat becomes 6 months old. Licenses shall expire either one year or three years (dependent on the license duration) on the last day of the month in which the license was issued. All licenses shall be renewed annually or every three years for as long as the owner owns the dog or cat.
