Good Practice in Postoperative and Procedural Pain: Abdominal Surgery Mobile App

The Good Practice in Postoperative and Procedural Pain: Abdominal Surgery mobile app is intended to be used by professionals involved in the acute care of children undergoing pain management after surgery or for painful medical procedures. It is designed to provide evidence-based information on the assessment of pain and the efficacy of pain management strategies. The app includes advice on the assessment of pain including evidence levels and grade of recommendation specific to Abdominal Surgery. This group includes a heterogeneous mixture of abdominal procedures on the gastro-intestinal (GI) and genitourinary (GU) tracts including nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, ureteric reimplantation and cystoplasty for all of which a significant level of postoperative pain is expected. Intravenous opioid techniques or epidural analgesia are acceptable for postoperative pain; in clinical practice supplementary analgesia with NSAID and paracetamol is usually also administered. A GoCanvas account can be specified as being HIPAA compliant.
