Telecommunications Company Using GoCanvas for Job Hazard Analysis Apps

According to OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) is: "...a technique that focuses on job tasks as a way to identify hazards before they occur. It focuses on the relationship between the worker, the task, the tools, and the work environment. Ideally, after you identify uncontrolled hazards, you will take steps to eliminate or reduce them to an acceptable risk level."  One of our current GoCanvas subscribers in the telecommunications industry is using GoCanvas to collect data for JHA.  There are various checklists their employees walk through using their mobile device to identify potential hazards and appropriate actions to prevent an accident.

This telecommunications company has offices in the US and Canada and provides full-service technology solutions in the wireless space (W-Max, LTE, Microwave networks and more), network services (network monitoring, hosted data back-up and more), and Internet services (WISP, colocation, managed hosting and more).  When you're talking about people climbing up towers and installing equipment then safety is critical.  Techniques like JHA (http://www.osha.gov/Publications/osha3071.html) are one way to ensure that risks are minimized.

This GoCanvas subscriber has their employees walk through various customized Job Hazard Analysis apps they built with Canvas's powerful App Builder tool.  They walk through the steps they will take to complete each job, identify the equipment they will need, identify potential hazards like high-voltage lines, make sure hazards are marked appropriately and more.  Once they have completed this process they sign-off on the fact they have reviewed all of this and send that signed document to their corporate offices to keep on record.  Then they actually start to do the work.  By walking through all of this first they greatly reduce the risk of an accident occuring.
