A fast-growing property management and real estate consultancy company in the southern U.S. has gone mobile with GoCanvas in an effort to replace its cumbersome and manually intensive method of conducting onsite property inspections.
Before GoCanvas, the company’s field representatives traveled with a host of forms as well as digital cameras to document the condition of the company’s rental properties. Once they finished filling out their inspection forms onsite, the field reps returned to the office to upload the photos from their cameras onto their computers and then match the photos with their respective forms. A representative described the process as both inefficient and time consuming.
Now that they have deployed GoCanvas, the reps travel with only one item – a smart phone equipped with apps they built to conduct inspections. Using a mix of Androids (1.6+), iPhones (iOS 3.2+), and BlackBerry devices, the property management reps can now link photos with particular questions, generate GPS locations on a Google map, and capture an agent’s electronic signature for verification purposes.
This featured subscriber continues to find new ways to take advantage of its GoCanvas subscription. The reps now use an app to issue violation letters with real-time date and time stamps, a map of the rental property, and photo documentation of the specific violation. GoCanvas has eliminated inefficiencies by sending the data back to the office and keeping the reps in the field.
