Our goal as a company is to make it easier for you to collect, share, and analyze data without the need of inefficient and costly paperwork. But we also want Canvas to be a platform that can help you gain efficiency in other parts of your business that you wouldn't normally consider like payment processing. We have created a quick-connect integration with Paypal Here that allows anyone using Canvas on their iPhone or android mobile device to begin collecting customer payments, like credit cards, in seconds without the hassle of pricey API integrations or concerns over data security. Simply plug-in the Paypal dongle into your device's headphone jack, swipe a debit or credit card, and watch the money transfer to your bank account!

Many Canvas customers today are already utilizing the Paypal integration for many use cases and industries including:

  • HVACWorkers with Mobile Devices
  • Plumbing
  • Landscaping
  • Vehicle Towing
  • Automotive Servicing
  • Pest Control
  • Pool/Spa services
  • Construction

Are Mobile Payment Apps for You?

There are a lot of benefits when it comes to implementing a mobile payment app on your mobile device. One major benefit of having the ability to collect credit card or debit card payments through Canvas is that the setup doesn't have to affect how your process works today. It can simply streamline the parts of your process that normally hold up internal efficiency including, in this case, payment transactions.

Many of our customers also love having the option of being able to collect receivables on the spot, even if it isn't part of their normal day to day process. Implementing in-app payments via PayPal Here can simply be an enhancement to your existing Canvas setup.

We suggest checking out mobile payments if you struggle with:

  • Tracking monthly invoices or payments
  • Or any other payment related processes

Benefits of Eliminating Paper Payments

You may be asking yourself, "What is a paper payment?". It's literally a term for any sort of payment you receive from a client that involves handling physical currency. This includes credit cards, debit cards, checks, cash, money orders, etc.

The issue with "paper payments" is that they can take a while to track, receive, and recognize on your financial statements and bank accounts versus digital transactions. Checks can get lost and cash can be easily mishandled, but with a mobile payments app, the money is securely sent to your bank account without the threat of mismanagement.

Paypal not only allows you to swipe credit or debit cards with its attachable dongle but allows you to input cash amounts as well. The best part is that after the customer signs off on the transaction right from your phone or tablet, a digital invoice receipt of the transaction is created and available to send to them instantly.  Now that "paper payment" is traceable in real-time, and not just sitting in someone's truck until the end of the day or week.

Mobile Payment Apps Made Simple

Just like everything else with the Canvas platform, we wanted to make collecting in-app payments, whether it's swiping a credit or debit card, as easy as possible! To get started, you simply access the Canvas App Builder and place a "Payment" field within the mobile form you wish to connect to Paypal.

Make sure your mobile form has a numerical field (Number, Summary, Calculation) so that you can connect your "Payment" field to it. This will let the Paypal integration know exactly how much you want to charge for each transaction, based on the specific numerical field or calculation you have setup in your form.
