I am an educational consultant with a large library of educational content but am just a little bee. I run my business out of a home office in a converted walk-in closet I fondly refer to as the Hive. After talking with Michael Benedict, Vice President-Application Store, I realized I did in fact have something to offer GoCanvas. They wanted to offer more educational applications but simply needed access to more content. GoCanvas is constantly looking at ways to expand their Application Store and striving to provide top quality content to their subscribers. A lot of this content comes from small business partners like Safety Link Ltd, Information Design London and Laser Tag Guy.
What made me decide to partner with GoCanvas?
My primary motivating force has always been impact; I don’t like to expend energy on things that don’t encourage positive change. GoCanvas has impact; they are revolutionizing the way people do business, helping the planet by reducing “stupid paper” on a global level and if that wasn’t enough they are passionate about giving back to nonprofits with their Ante Up Program. They make it hard not to love them.
Once I came on board as a Content Partner, they offered to turn my paper forms into apps. They have an outstanding team of App Architects who covert your paper forms into mobile apps. I am a hands-on kind of person (OK I am a control freak) and decided to try building my apps myself. Creating my first app was surprisingly easy with their straightforward App Builder, so simple in fact that my 12 year old niece helped me build several apps.
I have made over 400 apps so I won’t lie, there were a few things I wanted to do with GoCanvas and was not able to master on my own using the help topics or instructional videos, but the amazing App Architects and Technical Support at GoCanvas patiently talked me through each the process to ensure I produced the best app possible.
After sharing my apps, GoCanvas helped me set up an Application Store for free. My App Store includes a custom banner with Black Bee Mobile’s logo to help promote my brand, a description of my company, as well links I have personally selected to promote my business, such as Black Bee Mobile, my blog, twitter and contact information. GoCanvas also provides each Content Partner and Reseller with individualized links and widgets to promote their Application Store on their website and through social media. These customized links and widgets help send referral customers to GoCanvas. This is important in helping generate revenue.
As a Content Partner, I generate revenues through two primary avenues. First, I promote GoCanvas on my website, social media channels and marketing initiatives. Anyone that arrives at GoCanvas from Black Bee Mobile becomes one of my customers. Once these customers become a paying GoCanvas subscriber, GoCanvas shares 30% of that user’s recurring spending. I literally don’t have to do a thing to earn money through the second avenue – if someone happens to be searching in Google for say a Weekly Lesson Plan and the first app they down load is one created by Black Bee Mobile, they also become my customer. GoCanvas shares 15% of these subscriber’s recurring spending. It really couldn’t be easier.

Not only does GoCanvas build your apps, they also merchandise them by creating demo videos on their YouTube Channel, screen shots of your app screens and even write detailed app descriptions. GoCanvas frequently promotes my business in their blog posts, endorses my social media updates, and my apps are randomly selected as featured apps. GoCanvas genuinely cares about my success. They continue to exceed my expectations.
