Acme Steel Buildings is a small business located in Louisiana. They specialize in commercial and industrial pre-engineered metal buildings. Over the past year or so, the company has made a concerted effort to eliminate wasteful and inefficient paper from their business. After cleaning out paper in some other areas, Acme was looking for a solution to give to their workers on various job sites. They found GoCanvas to be a perfect fit for their needs.
In the past, Acme workers on construction sites would fill out reports on pen and paper. This proved to be extremely inefficient for the business. Different updates that were happening on the site were often not reported back to the office until a week later. There were clear communication issues between the teams in the field and those back in the office.
Once signed up for GoCanvas, Acme was able to take full advantage of the GoCanvas Application Store which has around 4,000 pre-built apps that can be downloaded for free. Once downloaded, the apps can be totally customized to fit the needs of any business. Acme found several apps that would easily capture all the data they needed. The primary app they used is a Daily Foreman Log to track the progression of specific jobs. Within the app they are able to capture images, track time, log equipment maintenance, and note any issues that occur on the job.
With GoCanvas, the reports are submitted on the job site and received back in the office in real time, eliminating any lag and keeping everyone in the loop on the progress of the projects. Those back in the office now feel far more connected to what is happening with any job. The company is more organized, saving paper, and operating economically.
Check out the GoCanvas Application Store and see if we have an app in your industry that can help you go paperless. If you do not find anything there, we can always build a form or you, for free! Just go to www.gocanvas.com/suyf and upload any form you currently fill out with paper and we will convert it to a mobile app.
