Warning orders give subordinates advance notice of upcoming operations. This gives them time to prepare. A warning order must be brief, but complete. A warning order only authorizes execution when it clearly says so. Preparing and sending a WARNORD from a smartphone enables leaders to quickly communicate with subordinates and initiate Troop Leading Procedures. Communicating quickly gives subordinates a lead on 2/3 of TLP time for planning and preparation. Using this template helps the leader issue a complete, structured order.
