Over 200 Business Apps for Google Android Smartphone Launched by Canvas

Data Collection and Image Capture Now on Droid, Eris, Hero, Behold, Moment and MyTouch Android Smartphones

Herndon, VA – February 2, 2010 – Canvas mobile apps for business now run on smartphones running Google’s Android 2.0 operating system, building upon existing support for BlackBerry, Windows Phone and Netbook devices. Businesses and mobile professionals can now use Android smartphones to connect with customers, collect valuable business information, and use that information to collaborate over the web. The recently published IDC study, Worldwide Mobile OS 2009-2013 Forecast and Analysis forecasts that from a very small base of just 690,000 units in 2008, total Android-powered shipments will reach 68.0 million units by 2013, making for a CAGR of 150.4%. Canvas now offers the largest selection of business applications for this rapidly growing user community.

The Canvas web site makes it easy to publish data collection apps on wireless smartphones. Since the service launched in August 2008, the Canvas user community has published over 200 mobile apps. These apps now run on all currently available Android 2.0 phones.
